independent pension adviser
Bring Your Pensions Together, Then Plan What Comes NextAn independent pension adviser that brings scattered pots into one place, and plans how you’ll actually be paid.
Most people reach their fifties with pensions scattered across old employers
Some are forgotten, some are expensive, and most are working harder for the provider than for you. As an independent pension adviser in London, consolidation is where we start: reviewing what you hold, checking for guarantees or benefits worth keeping, and, where it makes sense, bringing everything into one place you can actually see and manage.
What's includedSorting Out Your Pensions Isn't Just About Tidying Up Old Paperwork
Here's what it actually covers with our independent pension adviser service:
Reviewing What You Hold
A full picture of every pension you have, what it's invested in, what it's costing you, and whether it's still doing its job.
Checking for Guarantees Worth Keeping
Consolidation isn't automatically the right answer, and we'll tell you when it isn't. Some older pensions carry valuable guarantees that shouldn't be given up.
Bringing It Together, Where It Makes Sense
Where consolidation genuinely benefits you, we bring your pensions into one place, easier to see, manage and grow.
Planning the Next Stage
Once your pensions are consolidated and working together, we plan how they'll eventually pay you an income, through drawdown or other options.
Independent, Whole-of-Market AdviceHow we work
As an independent pension adviser in London, we can recommend across the whole market, so the advice is about your retirement, not anyone's product. Nothing is recommended by default, consolidation, drawdown or otherwise, it's based on what actually fits your circumstances.
We do:
Review every pension you hold before recommending anything
Tell you when consolidation isn't the right move
Plan the full journey, from consolidation through to drawdown
We don't:
Recommend consolidation as a default
Overlook guarantees or benefits worth keeping
Leave you to work out the decumulation stage alone

Pensions at Every StageThe Right Approach Changes Depending on Where You Are
What your pension needs to do for you looks different depending on how far off retirement actually is.
While You're Building Your Pension
This is where consolidation and strategy matter most. Pots sitting idle across old employers are quietly costing you in fees and missed growth, and every year left unaddressed is a year of lost compounding.
While You're Living Off Your Pension
The focus shifts from growing your pension to drawing from it sustainably, working out how much you can afford to take, and how to do it without overpaying tax.
While You're Passing On A Legacy
Pensions can be one of the most tax-efficient ways to pass on wealth, but only if they're structured with that in mind ahead of time.
Leaving pensions unaddressed carries a real cost, even when nothing feels urgent
Pots left in old, expensive schemes underperform quietly for years, and by the time it's noticed, a meaningful amount of growth has already been lost. Valuable guarantees can be given up unknowingly by savers consolidating without proper advice. And without a plan for the decumulation phase, retirees risk withdrawing in a way that either runs their pot down too fast or hands over more in tax than necessary.

Having a pension and having a pension that's actually working for you aren't always the same thing. Many people are in default funds, paying higher fees than necessary, without realising it. Worth checking rather than assuming it's fine.
-
You can move pensions yourself, but doing so without checking for guarantees, exit penalties or benefits worth keeping is how people accidentally give up valuable protections. Advice exists to make sure that doesn't happen.
-
It can be, which is exactly why we check for guarantees and benefits before recommending anything. Consolidation isn't our default answer, it's only recommended when it genuinely benefits you.
-
Not automatically, and not always in the way you'd assume. Most pensions are paid at the discretion of the scheme trustees, so if your expression of wishes form is out of date or was never completed, the money may not go where you'd want. On top of that, how your survivors take the pension, whether as a lump sum, drawdown, or an annuity, can make a substantial difference to the tax they pay, and the rules around death before and after age 75 aren't intuitive. A self-select platform will let you nominate a beneficiary, but it won't work out the most tax-efficient way for your family to inherit. That's exactly the kind of decision where advice earns its place.
